All year we have been seeing the comeback of the pant suit and it wont be going away any time soon. Gucci showed them re-invented by putting buttons on the shoulder instead and the front just sleek and modern with a simple belt of the same colour.
Jewel tones are also very popular, seen at Gucci, Burberry Prorsum and Versus.

Danish brand Noir showed Monochrome galore on the runway with a monochrome mix of fibres - organic cotton, velvets, satins and leathers. Many other brands have also showed this trend in their s/s collections. Like always…Black and white fashions defy time, and keep their place as big colors for spring and summer of 2013.
Black and white has a very classic feel and make it easy to work the retro, style icon look. You are never overdressed or underdressed in black and white so i’d say thats why women have relied on monochrome for decades. black and white can work with pretty much anything so trust your fabulous instinct on this one.
You can only look amazing in your clothes if you FEEL amazing in your clothes so have confidence in yourself!

Good outfits always start with one statement piece, it could be a bold necklace, a gorgeous new patterned shirt or a vintage leather skirt from the 80’s. It can be anything that stands out a little, the centre of your outfit. Always try to match a colour in the statement piece if they are, for example, printed pants, for the top you can either go for the safe options (black and white, duh) or you can match colours. For example: If the print is pink, green, black, yellow and green, (remember its just an example…) the main colour is black and the colour that you can see the least is green, you can wear a green top. The reason is that having a green top will make the green in the pants more obvious.

If you chose a bold necklace as your statement piece you need to think about the different elements of your outfit, if you are wearing pants or a skirt then wear it with a high collared shirt, preferably with some sort of pattern on it. I recently bought a necklace made of big neon pink triangles. I wore it with a high collared shirt that had black and white polka dots on it, tucked into a high-waisted leather skirt and some white converse sneakers (not the high top ones). I did my hair in a fishtail braid to the side.
A few weeks ago i bought a trendy cropped denim jacket but the design was very full on and it took a while to figure out how to wear it exactly. I ended up wearing it with a tight black skirt and a plain white tank top and tomato red high-top converse sneakers. On another occasion i wore it with the same top but i wore black country road leggings and my purple dr.martans eight-ups which i love dearly.
My FAVOURITE statement piece is definitely my cropped floral jeans which i have worn countless times. i wear them with a mustard yellow top because there is only a little of that colour in the jean design (see the first paragragh) and some cream sandals. i wear my hair in a sleek high ponytail.

Clashing prints can be a difficult look to pull off because if you get it wrong, it looks like you know nothing about fashion even if you know enough to run Vogue all by yourself. clashing prints are guaranteed to stand out so you have to me pretty confident to pull it off. The best way to do it is to put together two prints that have one colour in common. Stripes and florals are always good too. Never, ever clash animal prints because that will not work, it will just look trashy. you can get inspiration from Prada or Miu Miu. The main look for Prada’s fall 2012 show was geometric clashing prints, you’ll notice that in an outfit there is also one colour in common between the pieces. In this collection, all the pieces in the outfits clash but that doesn’t mean that you should necessarily go along with that because as glamourous as it may look, the reality is that, that is high fashion and if you walked down the street dressed in those particular outfits, you would look ridiculous. Not everyone is into fashion and therefore don’t understand it the way you do. Those clothes where designed for runways and celebrities only. Thats why clashing prints are so hard. Of course we can still wear them but we need to tone it down. Be aware of it but try a few things on and trust your instincts.

The Little Black Dress is a wardrobe essential. Every girl should have one. Its a symbol of class and style, think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She wore a stunning Givenchy L.B.D with a wide-brimmed hat and a pair of high-heeled sling-backs. Black is one trend that will never go out of style.

In 1919 Coco Chanel made black a classic. She designed one of the first L.B.Ds. At charity ball she claimed that the colours women were wearing as “awful, they make women ugly. I think they ought to be dressed in black.” I agree. Black is mysterious, beautiful and comfortable. Black is anonymous, it makes people wonder. There is no other colour that looks so good on any occasion. Black is timeless.

New shoes!!! I love studs on shoes so much and these grey suede ankle boots look amazing with them!!! I would wear them with some black or white cropped pants so that there is some ankle showing and a retro rock tank top and simple block colour clutch.
My favourite trend this season is DEFINITELY cropped jeans. All the jeans in my wardrobe have undergone a little makeover! i love rolling the bottoms of my jeans as it makes me t feel like i’m wearing a brand new pair and they look just as good as “ankle biters”, if not better.
I also LOVE retro cat eye sunnies! Very Audrey Hepburn. They look just as elegant and glamourous now as they did in the 1950’s. Celebrities like Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Riche have been photographed wearing them.
One more trend I like is peplum skirts, tops, dresses etc… They are gorgeous and have a classic, feminine silhouette. Peplums tend to draw attention to a smaller waist and look fabulous with a loose fitting blouse. They have been seen at runway shows by Charlotte Ronson, Jason Wu, Lavin and Cushnie + many more.
Some trends are better than others but the best thing you can do is wear the ones you like. There should be no pressure whatsoever to wear all of them. They way I see it, clothes show your personality and you should wear what makes you happy.
